Optics
Toscanoptics company has improved its own optics more and more for many years. Infact working processes are mostly automatized by machines and each optic is hand figured to reach a very high quality level. Our optics are manufactured, and guaranteed to be better than 1/20th wave RMS.
Interferometric testing and fringe analysis data is provided with every set of optics on request. This is the only way to quantify optical performance.

Optical Flats
Toscanoptics company provide also to supply very high precision optical flats & flat mirror for industry, research and technology. As examples, mirrors for laser applications, lidar.
An optical flat is an optical-grade piece of glass lapped and polished to be extremely flat on one or both sides, usually within a few millionths of an inch (about 25 nanometres). They are used with a monochromatic light to determine the flatness of other optical surfaces by interference When an optical flat is placed on another surface and illuminated, the light waves reflect off both the bottom surface of the flat and the surface it is resting on. This causes a phenomenon similar to thin-film interference. The reflected waves interfere, creating a pattern of interference fringes visible as light and dark bands.
A surface polished to a flatness of λ/4 will show straight fringes when tested with a λ/4 flat, but its contours can be revealed by testing with a λ/20 or λ/50 optical flat. This also means that both the lighting and viewing angle have an effect on the accuracy of the results.
The glass used are: Fused Silica (quartz) or Zerodur on request
