Flat windows

The telescope window is a thin disk made of optical-quality glass, with parallel, optically flat faces that close the telescope tube to suppress tube currents . It is fabricated by alternately smoothing and polishing the two faces until they are plane parallel and flat within predetermined tolerances.  In the our telescopes especially for Cassegrain D-K the windows  have an anti-reflective coating applied to both surfaces to increase the light transmission.
